When considering admission for your loved one, you as a parent or guardian must feel comfortable with the facility you choose. Your initial contact with an admissions coordinator should help you make a confident decision.

 

What you can expect…
The process begins with a simple phone call to our hospital. You will be offered a free clinical evaluation by our licensed professionals. The assessment includes all pertinent information regarding the individual’s recent behaviors and treatment history. Following the confidential assessment, our clinical staff will determine the appropriate level of care for you or you loved one.

What to Bring

Several changes of comfortable clothes (limit 5) including underwear and socks
Appropriate sleeping attire
Jacket (seasonal)
Small bills and change for vending machines
Toiletries & hygiene supplies-excluding the list below
1 pair of shoes-no laces

 


What Not to Bring

Aerosol products
Alcohol-containing products
Volatile solvents, such as fingernail polish remover
Belts/Scarves, drawstrings in clothing, shoelaces or any other item that might be used as a ligature
Cameras of any kind
Cell phones
Computers
Items made of glass or breakable plastic
Drugs - prescription, OTC, herbal or street
Food and beverages brought in from outside the hospital except under special circumstances (i.e., religious observances).
Glass mirrors, including encased cosmetics
Heat-producing and/or corded personal care products, such as shavers, hairdryers and curling irons
Matches, lighters
Money, currency over $5.00
Other items that may be used by a patient to harm self or others, at the discretion of staff
Personal radio, TV, DVD, CD and MP3 players, IPOD, etc.
Plastic bags, cellophane
Provocative clothing
Recording devices of any kind
Sharp objects including but not limited to, scissors, metal nail files, tweezers, razors, glass or metal of any kind; crochet or knitting needles or needles of any kind; or anything with an edge that can conceivably be used for harm to self or other
Tobacco products
Toys/Games
Videos/Video games
Weapons of any type, including martial arts weapons
Clothes hangars of any type
Pens or pencils or other writing utensils
